On a certain method for numerical analysis of the Navier – Stokes equations

The present paper describes a modification and development of the method presen­ted in [18] for the determination of unsteady plane flow of viscous incompressible fluid. The main feature of the method consists in such elimination of the pressure from the governing equations by means of integration that the order of resulting system is not increased in comparison with the original one. This operation leads to the initial problem for a system of the first order ordinary differential equa­tions. In this paper the method was modified by application of the staggered grid for velocity components. Numerical results and their comparison with results ob­tained by other authors are presented in order to verify the method.
